Hello, and welcome to the story about my adventures!
My name is Sarah and I am a twenty-something year old with a passion for travel, like most people my age. I’ve been to Europe twice and to a handful of state in the U.S. I plan on that tripling in the next year or so!
Recently, I finished studying abroad at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. I was there for four months with a wonderful host family where I met a ton of great people!
Study abroad is truly one of my greatest passions in life. I strongly believe that everyone should get a chance to not only go abroad but study while they are there. One of my biggest pet peeves is the question: “Isn’t study abroad basically a vacation?”
To that, I answer no. Study abroad gives you a taste of the culture of a country that tourists never experience. It’s night and day, a comparison between visiting a country and actually living there. Study abroad is hard work-and when’s the last time vacation was synonymous with that-but it’s so so so rewarding.
So I created this blog in order to try to encourage more people to study abroad and to show that anyone can do it.
My home university is Grand Valley State University, which is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I’m a senior in school with plans on majoring in International Business and Accounting, with a minor in Spanish. After my semester abroad in Bilbao, I returned to Detroit in order to intern at an accounting firm.
I love everything coffee and penguins, and I’m not a fan of time changes.
Shoot me an email if you have any comments about my blog! I’m always looking on how to improve it.
